A humanitarian group has commenced the resettlement of displaced persons in various communities across Benue State. The initiative aims to provide safe shelter, essential supplies, and support to residents who were forced to flee their homes due to conflicts.
Officials from the group noted that the resettlement process will prioritize the most vulnerable families, including women, children, and the elderly. They emphasized the importance of restoring normalcy and helping the affected communities rebuild their lives.
Local leaders and state authorities have expressed appreciation for the effort, highlighting the need for continued collaboration between government agencies and humanitarian organizations. They assured residents that security measures are in place to protect them during and after resettlement.
The group also pledged to provide ongoing support, including access to healthcare, education, and livelihood programs, to ensure that returning residents can reintegrate successfully and sustainably into their communities.
