The Anambra State Police Command has reported a significant reduction in crime across the state in 2025. Authorities also confirmed the successful rescue of 35 individuals who had been abducted by criminals during the year. The police highlighted that sustained patrols, intelligence gathering, and community cooperation have contributed to the improved security situation.
Police spokespersons stated that operations targeting kidnappers, armed robbers, and other criminal elements have been intensified. The rescued victims were recovered from different locations, with some kidnappers apprehended and now facing legal action.
The command urged residents to remain vigilant and collaborate with law enforcement agencies by reporting suspicious activities. Officials emphasized that community participation remains critical to sustaining the decline in crime and protecting lives and property.
Anambra police also reassured citizens that they will continue deploying strategic measures to maintain public safety, reduce criminal incidents, and respond swiftly to threats across the state.
