Aisha Buhari has revealed that former President Muhammadu Buhari once believed damaging rumours about her while he was in office. According to her, false stories circulating within the Aso Rock environment made her husband think she was involved in a plot against his life.

She explained that the claims were based on gossip and internal politics rather than facts. Aisha said the situation created deep personal pain, as it affected trust within their marriage and placed her under unnecessary suspicion at a very sensitive time.

The former First Lady noted that power circles are often filled with misinformation, and leaders sometimes act on what they hear without proper verification. She added that such rumours can destroy relationships and cause emotional harm to innocent people.

Aisha urged those in positions of authority to be careful about the kind of advice and information they accept. She stressed the need for leaders to verify claims before believing or acting on them, especially when such claims involve close family members.
