The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) recorded a drop in revenue for November as the total sum of N1.928 trillion was shared among the federal government, states, and local governments. This marks a decline compared to previous months, raising concerns about revenue trends.
The federal government received the largest portion, followed by the states and local government councils. Analysts noted that the dip could affect ongoing development projects and state budgets if the trend continues.
Economists emphasized the need for diversification of revenue sources beyond oil and gas, suggesting that states adopt sustainable strategies to stabilize finances. They also recommended closer monitoring of revenue inflows to plan expenditures more effectively.
Despite the decrease, authorities reassured that allocations would continue to be disbursed transparently to meet statutory obligations. Stakeholders called for increased fiscal responsibility to maximize the impact of the shared funds.
