A coalition of civil society groups has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to promptly investigate the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP). The call follows a petition alleging corruption and irregularities within the agency.
The coalition stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in public institutions. They highlighted that a timely investigation would help restore public confidence and ensure that public funds are managed responsibly.
Supporting the petition, the groups demanded that the EFCC examine all financial transactions and procurement processes at the BPP. They also called for the prosecution of any individuals found guilty of corrupt practices.
The coalition concluded by emphasizing that corruption undermines good governance and economic growth, urging swift action to prevent further mismanagement of public resources.
