Former Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has denied claims that he played a role in the disqualification of some APC governorship aspirants ahead of the 2026 election. He described the allegations as false and politically motivated, saying he has no hand in the screening committee’s decisions. Oyetola explained that the party has clear rules, and only the committee has the power to approve or reject aspirants.
He further stated that those accusing him are only trying to create division within the party. According to him, unity is needed now more than ever as APC prepares for the next election in Osun. He urged party members not to fall for distractions and to remain focused on strengthening the party for victory in 2026.
Oyetola also stressed that he is committed to fairness and democratic processes. He said he supports an open and transparent primary election where the people and party delegates can freely choose their preferred candidate. He encouraged all aspirants to accept the screening outcome and work together for the party’s success.
He concluded by calling for peace, respect, and discipline among party members. Oyetola reminded them that disagreements are normal in politics but should not destroy the progress the party has made. He assured supporters that APC will come out stronger and more united ahead of the Osun 2026 governorship race.
