Women in the Idjerhe community have raised strong concerns over the recent rise in cult-related killings in the area. They said the constant violence has created fear among residents and is disrupting the peace of the community. According to the women, the actions of some youths have put everyone at risk.
The women stated that they can no longer keep quiet while innocent lives are being lost. They warned that if the youths behind the killings do not stop their activities immediately, they will report them to the police. They noted that the community cannot continue to suffer because of the actions of a few individuals.
Community leaders also supported the women’s stand, saying the killings have affected both social and economic activities in Idjerhe. They urged the youths to drop every form of cultism and embrace peace for the development of the community.
The women further appealed to security agencies to increase patrols in the area. They said quick intervention will help stop the violence and restore calm. They added that the safety of children and families must come first.
