Labour Party chieftain, Arabambi, has called on the government to reconsider the inclusion of Reno Omokri on the latest ambassadorial list. He argued that Omokri’s history of controversies and public statements make him unsuitable for the diplomatic role.
Arabambi stressed that ambassadorial positions require individuals with credibility, professionalism, and the ability to foster good international relations. According to him, Omokri’s recent actions could undermine Nigeria’s image abroad.
He urged the government to appoint candidates with proven diplomatic skills and a history of non-partisan service. Arabambi emphasized that ambassadorial appointments should prioritize the nation’s interest over political considerations.
The statement has sparked discussions online, with some agreeing with Arabambi’s concerns while others defend Omokri’s eligibility. The debate highlights the sensitivity surrounding diplomatic postings and national representation.
