Former SDP presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing it as an “absent-minded government.” Adebayo claimed the government is not focused on the important issues affecting Nigerians, especially insecurity and economic hardship. According to him, many of the policies being introduced show a lack of clear planning and proper coordination.
Adebayo explained that the administration appears to be reacting to problems instead of solving them with long-term strategies. He argued that Nigerians are still struggling with high living costs, rising unemployment, and insecurity because the government has not shown the level of attention required to fix these issues. He urged President Tinubu to be more present, organised, and responsive to national needs.
The former presidential candidate also expressed concern that key appointments and decisions are not aligned with what Nigerians expect from a government that promised renewed hope. He said many citizens feel disconnected and uncertain about the direction the country is heading. For him, a government should be deliberate, consistent, and focused on results.
Adebayo further advised that Nigeria needs leaders who pay attention, take responsibility, and act with clarity. He encouraged the government to listen more to the people and develop policies that directly address hunger, poverty, and insecurity. He stressed that unless the administration becomes more intentional, the country may continue facing serious challenges.
