The Gombe State Police Command has successfully dismantled a major kidnapping syndicate, arresting seven suspects linked to a series of abductions in the state. Authorities also recovered a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) from the suspects, highlighting the severity of the gang’s operations.
According to the Police spokesperson, the syndicate was responsible for multiple kidnappings and ransom demands across Gombe. The arrest followed months of intelligence gathering and coordinated operations by the security forces. Officials noted that the suspects are now facing interrogation and prosecution under Nigeria’s criminal laws.
The Police Command praised the efforts of its officers and the cooperation of the local community, which provided critical information leading to the arrests. The recovered GPMG and other weapons were seized to prevent further criminal activities.
Residents of Gombe welcomed the action, expressing relief that a dangerous network had been neutralized. The Police reiterated their commitment to combating kidnapping and ensuring public safety across the state.
