The Nigeria Customs Service has confiscated petroleum products valued at N181.6 million in Adamawa State. The seizure was part of ongoing efforts to curb smuggling and illegal trade in petroleum products across the country.
According to the Customs authorities, the operation led to the arrest of individuals involved in transporting the products without proper documentation. Officials stressed that such actions are vital in protecting government revenue and public safety.
The seized products include premium motor spirit (PMS) and other petroleum derivatives, which were being moved illegally across state borders. Customs officers have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and legal action will be taken against the culprits.
The Customs Service also urged traders and transporters to comply with petroleum distribution regulations to avoid penalties. They emphasized that vigilance and cooperation are key to curbing smuggling and ensuring the smooth supply of petroleum products nationwide.
