Two members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly have stepped down from the All Progressives Congress (APC), with one of them officially switching to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). One of them said he was left with no choice but to defect to the PDP, which he believes offers better opportunities for service and political inclusion. The second lawmaker resigned completely from APC but has not yet announced his next political direction.

The defection sparked reactions among Assembly members, with some saying the development reflects deeper divisions within the APC in Zamfara. Others noted that shifts like this are becoming more common as political alignments change ahead of the next election cycle.
