Reps ask FG to name sponsors of terrorism, banditry

The House of Representatives has called on the Federal Government to publicly identify individuals and groups sponsoring terrorism and banditry in Nigeria. Lawmakers stressed that naming the sponsors is crucial to tackling the rising insecurity across the country.

During plenary, several members emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the fight against terrorism. They urged the government to take decisive action to prevent criminals from enjoying protection or support from powerful backers.

The lawmakers also highlighted the negative impact of terrorism and banditry on communities, businesses, and social development. They warned that without exposing those funding these crimes, the security situation will continue to deteriorate.

The House of Representatives vowed to follow up on the matter and ensure that the Federal Government takes concrete steps to protect citizens, restore peace, and bring all sponsors of violence to justice.
