Adamawa Assembly asks Gov Fintiri to suspend Madagali council chairman

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has called on Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to suspend the chairman of Madagali Local Government Area. The lawmakers made the request after discussing issues surrounding the administration of the council. According to the Assembly, the decision is necessary to allow proper investigations into allegations raised against the chairman.

During the plenary session, members argued that the situation in Madagali needed urgent intervention. They explained that the suspension would help ensure fairness and prevent any interference in the probe. Some lawmakers emphasised that public office holders must be held accountable to maintain trust in local governance.

The Assembly also directed relevant committees to look deeper into the concerns presented. They stated that the investigation would reveal whether the chairman acted within the laws guiding local government administration. The lawmakers insisted that transparency is essential to protect the interests of residents.

Residents of Madagali and political observers are now waiting for Governor Fintiri’s response to the Assembly’s resolution. If the governor agrees, the chairman may step aside while the investigation continues. The development has sparked discussions about leadership, accountability, and the future of the council.
