A prominent Northern group has urged the Nigerian government to maintain a strong and sustained fight against terrorism following the recent rescue of abducted schoolgirls in Kebbi State. The group praised security forces for their efforts but emphasized that more needs to be done to prevent future attacks and protect citizens.
Leaders of the group stressed that terrorism remains a serious threat in many parts of Northern Nigeria. They called for improved intelligence, better coordination among security agencies, and community involvement to ensure that abductions and violent attacks are minimized. According to them, a continuous and proactive approach is necessary to secure schools and vulnerable communities.
The group also appealed to the government to strengthen educational institutions and provide safe environments for students. They highlighted the importance of rebuilding trust between communities and security forces, as well as offering support to victims and their families. Leaders said that sustained anti-terror strategies could significantly reduce incidents of kidnapping and violence.
Finally, the Northern group urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities. They emphasized that collective efforts, along with effective government policies, are essential to defeating terrorism and ensuring that children can pursue education without fear.
