The North-Central Forum has urged APC state governors and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) to review the appointment of Yilwatda as the national chairman of the party. The forum expressed concerns over the process and called for a careful assessment to ensure the party’s leadership meets national expectations.
Leaders of the forum stated that the decision should reflect fairness and inclusiveness, taking into account the views of all regions. They emphasized that transparency and consultation are essential to maintain party unity and public trust. According to the forum, a review could help strengthen the APC ahead of upcoming elections.
The forum also appealed to party stakeholders to prioritize national interest over personal ambitions. They warned that any perception of bias or unfairness in leadership selection could affect the party’s credibility and performance at both state and federal levels. The forum stressed the importance of collaborative leadership for sustainable political success.
Finally, the North-Central Forum called for open dialogue between the APC leadership and members across the country. They said reviewing the appointment is not about opposing the party but ensuring that the process strengthens democracy and fosters unity within the APC.
