Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has revealed that he has activated important steps to help secure the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The governor made this known while addressing concerns raised by residents who have continued to demand Kanu’s freedom.
Otti explained that although the matter is under the control of the Federal Government, he is doing everything within his power as governor to push for a peaceful resolution. He noted that discussions have already begun, and he is hopeful that the efforts will bring positive results.
The governor further stated that he understands how emotional the issue is for many people in the South-East. He assured citizens that his administration is committed to peace, justice and the protection of every resident of Abia State.
Governor Otti urged the public to remain calm and patient, stressing that sensitive issues like this require careful negotiation. He also encouraged citizens to support lawful and peaceful processes while the government continues its dialogue.
