The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised Governor Ademola Adeleke for travelling abroad at a time when insecurity challenges are increasing in the state. According to the party, the governor’s trip shows a lack of seriousness in addressing the safety concerns of residents. They argued that the state needs strong leadership at home, not an absent governor.
The APC claimed that several communities have been reporting cases of kidnapping, robbery, and violent attacks in recent weeks. They insisted that the governor should remain in the state to coordinate security agencies and provide direction during such a sensitive period. The opposition party said that leaving the country at this time sends the wrong message to citizens.
They further accused Governor Adeleke of prioritising foreign engagements over the welfare of Osun people. The party noted that issues like poor road networks, rising crime rates, and delayed government responses require immediate attention. The APC said that the governor’s absence shows a lack of commitment to solving these problems.
The party also called on security agencies and community leaders to stay alert and work together to reduce crime in the state. They urged the Osun government to take insecurity seriously and ensure that residents feel protected. The APC insisted that leaders must be fully present when the state is facing major challenges.
