Delta: Stakeholders decry sidelining of foundation APC members in Oboreveori’s govt

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State have raised concerns over the alleged sidelining of the party’s foundation members in Governor Sheriff Oboreveori’s administration. According to the aggrieved members, those who stood by the party from the beginning are not being carried along, while newer entrants are taking key positions and enjoying government benefits.

The stakeholders argued that loyal members who built the APC structure in the state deserve recognition and inclusion. They noted that several political appointments currently favour individuals who only joined the party recently, leaving long-standing party faithful frustrated and ignored. Many described the situation as unfair and damaging to party unity.

Some APC leaders also warned that ignoring foundation members could weaken the party at the grassroots level. They stressed that these original members invested their time, resources, and influence to grow the APC in Delta over the years. According to them, proper representation is needed to maintain internal balance and strengthen the party ahead of future elections.

They urged the state leadership and the governor’s administration to revisit the appointment process and ensure fairness. The stakeholders called for immediate action to restore confidence among loyal party members and prevent further division within the APC in Delta State.
