Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has appealed to the people of Zamfara State to support and join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking during a visit to the state, El-Rufai argued that Nigeria needs a new political direction, stressing that the ADC has the capacity to bring real solutions to insecurity and economic hardship facing citizens.
He explained that for Zamfara to escape its long-standing security issues and poor economic conditions, the people must embrace fresh leadership and innovative ideas. According to El-Rufai, insecurity in the state has destroyed livelihoods and slowed development, and only a committed political structure can reverse the trend. He maintained that the ADC represents positive change and a new vision for the country.
El-Rufai noted that the challenges faced by Zamfara and other northern states require strategic planning, sincerity, and strong governance. He encouraged residents to think beyond political sentiment and support a movement focused on protecting lives, boosting opportunities, and creating prosperity. He urged citizens to work together in order to achieve a safer and stronger region.
The former governor also emphasized the importance of unity and political participation among young people and community leaders. He said every resident has a role to play in reshaping Nigeria’s future and asked them to embrace a party that is ready to lead with integrity and competence. According to him, 2027 presents a chance to rebuild trust in governance and set the nation on a productive path.
El-Rufai concluded by assuring that ADC is ready to offer credible leadership, urging Zamfara citizens not to lose hope. He encouraged voters to stand firm and choose leaders who will prioritise development, peace, and progress. He promised that with collective effort, Zamfara can overcome insecurity and move toward meaningful growth.
