Bianca Ojukwu, widow of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, has appealed to all candidates in the Anambra governorship election to accept the result of the polls in good faith. She emphasized that elections are meant to strengthen democracy, not divide the people or cause chaos in the state.
Speaking after casting her vote, Bianca urged politicians to show maturity and put the interest of the state above personal ambition. She explained that only one person can emerge winner and encouraged contestants to remain calm even if the outcome does not favor them.
She also reminded supporters and political parties that violence or protests will not change the democratic process. According to her, Anambra needs peace to progress, and citizens must avoid anything that can threaten stability or disrupt daily life after the election.
Bianca praised voters for coming out to exercise their civic rights and applauded security agencies and election observers for their efforts to maintain peace. She expressed hope that whoever wins will work sincerely for the development of Anambra State.
Her comments came as vote counting and results collation continue across the state. Many residents are now waiting patiently for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to announce the official outcome.
