No part of zone 9 would serve as breeding ground for criminals – AIG Uzuegbu

Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 9, AIG Echeng Uzuegbu, has assured residents that no part of the zone will be allowed to serve as a hideout or breeding ground for criminals. He made this promise while addressing security stakeholders, warning that those involved in crime or supporting crime will face firm law enforcement action.

AIG Uzuegbu emphasized that the police under his command are intensifying surveillance, patrols, and intelligence-driven operations to ensure communities remain safe. According to him, security agencies are fully prepared to deal with any criminal threat, insisting that public safety remains the police’s top priority.

He called on community leaders, traditional rulers, and residents to work closely with security operatives by reporting suspicious activities. The AIG stressed that policing requires partnership and that communities play a huge role in helping security agencies catch criminals before they strike.

Furthermore, Uzuegbu encouraged youth across the zone to shun crime and embrace meaningful activities. He noted that development can only thrive in places where peace and order exist, and urged young people to pursue education, skills, and positive ambitions rather than involvement in illegal acts.

His assurance has been welcomed by residents who hope stronger policing will reduce insecurity and bring more stability to the region. Many believe continued collaboration between citizens and law enforcement will go a long way in protecting lives and property.
