PDP National convention: Nobody will use me, my loyalists – Wike blows hot

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has issued a strong warning amid the ongoing crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Speaking at a meeting with Concerned PDP Stakeholders in Abuja, Wike made it clear that neither he nor his loyalists would be used as bargaining tools in political negotiations within the party.

His statement followed the Federal High Court ruling that suspended the party’s scheduled national convention in Ibadan. Wike expressed frustration over what he described as internal sabotage, stressing the importance of restoring discipline and proper processes within the party.

According to him, those fighting for reforms in the PDP are doing so to protect the party’s integrity, not for personal benefits. He vowed to resist any attempt to hijack the party’s leadership or use his influence for selfish deals.

“We have sacrificed for this party,” he said, insisting that the PDP must uphold fairness, due process, and respect for the law to remain credible and strong going forward.
