American rap star Nicki Minaj has voiced strong concern about global religious persecution following the U.S. government’s decision to list Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC). The designation, approved by President Donald Trump’s administration, highlights fears of religious freedom violations in Nigeria.
In a post shared on X, Minaj said she felt grateful to live in a country where people are free to worship God without fear. She emphasized that no one should ever be attacked or discriminated against because of their religion. According to her, respecting other people’s beliefs does not require sharing the same faith.
Minaj noted that many countries around the world are facing serious religious violence. She warned that it is dangerous for society to pretend such events are not happening. Ignoring persecution, she said, only allows injustice to grow.
The rapper praised the U.S. government for taking action on the issue and called for prayers for Christians facing threats and attacks in different parts of the world. She added that the lives and rights of believers must be protected, and urged everyone to show compassion and awareness.
Minaj encouraged people to stand together, pray for those suffering, and uphold the right to practice one’s faith freely. She stressed that paying attention to global injustice is a responsibility, not a choice.
