Niger CP deploys three DCPs, personnel to three senatorial zones for Saturday council elections

The Commissioner of Police in Niger State has taken major steps to ensure peace and security during the council elections scheduled for Saturday. According to the command, three Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) and several officers have been deployed across the state’s three senatorial districts. The deployment aims to maintain order and prevent any breakdown of law and security before, during, and after the polls.

The police said the measure is part of a broader plan to protect voters, election officials, and materials. Officers will be stationed at polling units, collation centers, and strategic points across the state. Security patrols and intelligence teams will also be on standby to respond quickly to any threat or emergency situation.

The Commissioner assured residents that the police are working closely with other security agencies to guarantee a safe and credible election. He urged politicians and supporters to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid any acts that could disrupt the electoral process. The command warned that anyone caught causing trouble or attempting to manipulate the election will face the full wrath of the law.

In addition, the police encouraged the public to come out and exercise their right to vote without fear. The Commissioner noted that security personnel have been instructed to remain professional and fair while ensuring compliance with election guidelines. He also advised community leaders and youth groups to support peace efforts in their areas.

Residents reacted positively to the deployment, saying it will help build confidence and discourage violence. With the election day approaching, security agencies say they are ready to deliver a peaceful and orderly exercise across Niger State.
