The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has cautioned Nigerians taking part in the 2025 paramilitary recruitment exercise to be alert to fake messages. The Board said some people are sending fraudulent emails and SMS to applicants, claiming to offer updates about the recruitment process.
In an official post on its X handle on Wednesday night, CDCFIB stated clearly that it will not reach out to applicants through text messages or email. Instead, the Board urged all candidates to only rely on its official recruitment portal for information and instructions. According to the board, shortlisted applicants are required to log in, update their profiles, and print their exam slips directly on the portal.
The warning follows the release of names of candidates shortlisted for the computer-based test (CBT) for paramilitary recruitment. The Secretary to the Board, retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril, advised applicants to check their status on the official portal starting Thursday, October 30, 2025. He encouraged candidates to carefully review their CBT date, venue, and time once confirmed.
Jubril reminded applicants to avoid visiting fake websites posing as the recruitment portal, noting that the correct portal link is the only legitimate platform for updates. He warned that scammers are attempting to take advantage of unsuspecting job seekers. He stressed the importance of following official instructions to avoid being defrauded.
The recruitment exercise covers four major paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. The Board also advised candidates to remain calm, ignore unofficial messages, and follow verified guidelines throughout the process.
