Polygamy hurts women, kids – Erigga claims

Nigerian rapper Erigga has voiced his strong opinion that polygamy causes more pain than good, especially for women and children. The rapper opened up about his personal experience, saying he grew up in a polygamous home and witnessed the emotional struggles that come with it.

In a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Erigga explained that in most polygamous families, the man rarely feels the pain, but the wives and children often carry the emotional burden. He stressed that multiple wives usually lead to competition, jealousy, and emotional wounds that can last for years.

Erigga shared that he has chosen a different path for his life. According to him, he is trying hard not to repeat his father’s lifestyle, believing that monogamy is healthier and more peaceful. He made it clear that he prefers having one partner to avoid problems and protect his family’s peace.

The rapper added that many men do not understand the emotional weight of polygamy until it is too late. He advised men to consider the long-term effects before choosing multiple partners, noting that monogamy is simpler, stable, and more fulfilling for everyone involved.

Erigga ended his statement by encouraging young men to learn from the past instead of repeating it. He believes that true love and family peace are easier to build when a man focuses on one partner and treats her right.
