The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in the upcoming Anambra State election, John Nwosu, has criticised the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, saying his administration has failed to meet the expectations of the people.
Speaking during an interview on Prime Time, an Arise Television programme monitored by DAILY POST, Nwosu said Soludo’s performance in almost four years has been disappointing. According to him, the governor’s handling of insecurity and other key sectors shows a lack of progress in governance.
“Four years in the life of a state is very important. As a matter of fact, the incumbent governor has not done well for the state. The indices are there for everyone to see, starting with insecurity,” Nwosu said.
He lamented the level of insecurity in parts of the state, especially Ihiala Local Government Area, which he said has been ravaged by kidnappings and violence. “Ihiala, which is home to the owner of Air Peace, has been ravaged by insecurity for the last three and a half years. People from that area have not been going home. They now hold weddings and burials outside their country home because of insecurity,” he added.
Nwosu urged voters in Anambra to support leaders who will bring real development, restore peace, and ensure the safety of residents, saying the people deserve better governance than what they currently have under Soludo’s administration.
