Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has officially inaugurated two key subcommittees — the Accreditation Committee and the Special Duties Committee — of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as preparations intensify for the party’s 2025 elective national convention. The highly anticipated event is set to take place on November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The inauguration of the Accreditation Subcommittee was held on Friday at the PDP Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja. The committee is tasked with producing the delegates’ list, designing booklets and tags for participants and observers, and overseeing the accreditation and welfare of all delegates attending the convention.
Governor Lawal also presided over the inauguration of the Special Duties Subcommittee at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja. This committee is responsible for coordinating financial operations, approving budgets, managing fundraising efforts, and ensuring transparent disbursement of funds throughout the convention process.
Speaking during the inauguration, Governor Lawal emphasized that both subcommittees are vital to the success of the upcoming PDP National Convention. He noted that the committees form an integral part of the National Convention Organising Committee, which is working to guarantee a smooth, credible, and transparent convention.
The governor further urged members of the subcommittees to carry out their duties diligently and uphold the principles of fairness, transparency, and accountability — values he said are essential to strengthening the PDP and restoring public confidence in the party’s leadership processes.
