The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested four of its officers for misconduct and unprofessional behavior towards civilians. The officers were accused of showing indiscipline and violating standard police procedures while attempting to arrest a suspect.
According to reports, the policemen allegedly used excessive force by firing shots in an attempt to make an arrest. The incident, which took place on October 14, 2025, at Sabon Gari Quarters in Fufore Local Government Area, was captured in a video that quickly went viral on social media, sparking public outrage.
The Command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the development in a statement released on Tuesday. He explained that the four officers have been detained and are currently facing disciplinary action for their incivility toward members of the public.
Nguroje added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, strongly condemned the officers’ actions, describing their behavior as unprofessional and against the ethics of the Nigeria Police Force. He assured the public that the matter would be properly investigated and that justice will take its course.
The Adamawa Police Command also appealed to residents to remain calm and continue to cooperate with law enforcement while disciplinary measures are being taken against the erring officers. The case serves as another reminder of the need for accountability and discipline within the police force.
