The Democracy Heroes Award is set to honour notable leaders across Africa, including the President of Botswana, former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, several state governors, and other distinguished personalities.
The award, which has become one of the most respected platforms for celebrating democratic values in Africa, recognises leaders, policymakers, and individuals who have contributed significantly to promoting good governance, accountability, and democratic growth.
Organisers explained that the honorees were selected based on their track records of service, leadership, and impact in their respective fields. The ceremony is expected to draw political leaders, business executives, and civil society representatives from across the continent.
This year’s event highlights Africa’s ongoing commitment to strengthening democracy and recognising those who continue to push for transparency and development.
