Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been advised to sack all the appointees made during the six-month period when Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas (retd.) served as Sole Administrator of Rivers State.
The advice came from APC chieftain, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, who noted that those appointments were done under an administration widely described as illegal. He said Governor Fubara should not be forced to work with commissioners or aides imposed on him.
Eze, a former spokesperson of the defunct nPDP, also stressed that for peace to return, lawmakers who either resigned or stood by Fubara during the crisis must be allowed back into the State Assembly.
He further urged President Bola Tinubu to give Governor Fubara assurances of protection against impeachment threats from members of the Assembly. According to him, the governor deserves confidence that he will not face further political embarrassment.
Eze added that if such assurances are not given, Governor Fubara should fully exercise his powers as the elected leader of Rivers State.
