Kelly Davis, the estranged wife of former NFL star Thomas Davis, was arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina, after being accused of attacking a woman she thought was romantically involved with her husband.
According to court documents, chiropractor Laura Watterson said Kelly came to her office on August 26, shouted accusations, and allegedly hit her several times.
Watterson claims Kelly first struck her chest in front of a patient and then, after being asked to leave, knocked off her glasses and hit her head.
A warrant was issued for Kelly on August 29, and she was arrested on September 3. She has been charged with one count of misdemeanor assault and battery.
Kelly’s lawyer, James J. Exum, denied the allegations, calling them false. He said, “We fully believe in Kelly’s innocence and look forward to defending her in court.”

Court records show that Kelly and Thomas Davis married in 2008 and separated in March 2024. In a separate civil case, Kelly accused Thomas of having relationships with at least six women during their marriage.
Thomas Davis was drafted in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft and played 13 seasons with the Carolina Panthers, earning three Pro Bowl selections and recording over 1,000 tackles before later playing for the Los Angeles Chargers and Washington Commanders.
The couple has two children, including Thomas Davis Jr., a four-star linebacker committed to play for Notre Dame.
