Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr, son of Bishop David Oyedepo and resident pastor of Faith Tabernacle, has said that in his 17 years of marriage he has never argued with his wife.

Speaking during a church service, he explained that since their wedding, he and his wife have lived peacefully without any quarrels. He traced the foundation of this decision back to his courtship days.

According to him, while still courting, he listened to a message on 1 Corinthians 7:28 which talks about the “troubles of marriage.”

The preacher had emphasized the challenges couples face, and this made him take a deeper look at the scripture. After studying it, he decided that his own marriage would not be filled with quarrels.

He said he spoke with his fiancée at the time and told her that they would never argue. Seventeen years later, he proudly noted, they have never raised their voices at each other or had a single fight. Their anniversary, celebrated in July, marked proof of their decision.

Oyedepo Jnr added that many people doubted him in the beginning, insisting that marriage would eventually change his belief.

However, his personal experience has convinced him that living peacefully in marriage without arguments is possible.

His testimony has drawn different reactions on social media. While some people praised his marriage as an example of peace and understanding, others doubted the claim. Some argued that disagreements are a natural part of human relationships.

One user on X wrote that the statement sounded like a joke, while another suggested he probably meant they never had a serious fight.

Others described the claim as unhealthy, saying it could mean that emotions are being bottled up.
