Doctors in the Federal Capital Territory have started a seven-day warning strike to protest the challenges facing the health sector.

The FCT chapter of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) announced the strike in a statement signed by its president, Dr. George Ebong, and other executives.

According to the doctors, the healthcare system in the FCT has suffered years of neglect and failure, making urgent reforms necessary to prevent further collapse.

Dr. Ebong explained that resident doctors are working under extreme pressure, often forced to cover multiple departments at once, a situation that endangers both medical workers and patients.
