President Bola Tinubu has said that Nigeria’s economy is now stable thanks to his administration’s bold reforms. He stated that these actions have helped the country gain respect globally.
He made the remarks at the State House while receiving His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Oladunni Olaoye, Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, along with other royal leaders.
Tinubu explained that years of neglect, fake records, smuggling, and corruption had slowed Nigeria’s progress. He added that illegal currency trading and fake business activities also made the economy very fragile.
He said his government took strong measures to fix these problems. “With your prayers, patience, and understanding, I’m glad to report that the economy has stabilized. The bleeding has stopped, the hemorrhage is gone, and the country is recovering,” the president said.
Tinubu also mentioned the creation of NELFUND, a program to help students stay in school despite poverty.
He stressed that education is the best tool to fight poverty, and his administration is working to make it available to everyone.
Finally, he said the government has been active in improving infrastructure, noting that significant progress has been made even though it has been only two years in office.
