Manchester United has officially confirmed the signing of Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
The 23-year-old has agreed to a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with the transfer fee reported to be £21.7 million.
The move is subject to international clearance and registration, and Lammens’ contract will keep him at the club until June 2030.
Before joining United, Lammens played 64 games for Royal Antwerp and helped the team win the Belgian Super Cup in 2023.
He was also called up to the Belgium national team for the first time in March. Speaking about the transfer, Lammens said joining Manchester United is a dream come true.
He expressed excitement at the opportunity to make an impact at the club and grow with the team over the coming years.
Lammens said he cannot wait to meet his teammates and work with manager Erik ten Hag and the coaching staff. He believes Manchester United is the perfect place to continue developing his career and achieve his goals.
The deal also makes him the most expensive goalkeeper ever sold by the Belgian Pro League.
Jason Wilcox, United’s Director of Football, described Lammens as a talented young goalkeeper with huge potential. He added that the club is delighted Lammens chose Manchester United despite interest from other teams.
