A senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has described former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai as an “expired politician” who relies on desperate tactics, blackmail, and lies to get what he wants.
Kwankwaso, in a statement, said Nigerians are already aware of the false claims El-Rufai has been making against President Bola Tinubu and other leaders. He insisted that the former governor’s political moves have failed and can no longer deceive the public.
He explained that El-Rufai’s recent actions are aimed at undermining President Tinubu and other politicians ahead of the 2027 elections.
The APC chieftain stressed that no one can challenge Tinubu in the upcoming presidential race, adding that those who are positioning themselves for 2027 have already been tested and failed in the past.
Kwankwaso also said El-Rufai has lost political strength, pointing to the recent bye-election in Kaduna State as proof of his lack of grassroots support.
He warned the former governor that he cannot stop Tinubu in 2027 the way he worked against former President Jonathan in 2015 by using poverty, insecurity, and economic hardship to his advantage. According to him, El-Rufai’s tactics are now well known to Nigerians and will no longer succeed.
