Kirsty Bertarelli, the former Miss UK and Britain’s wealthiest divorcee, is heartbroken after her partner Marc passed away due to a severe stroke.
Bertarelli, 54, became widely known when she finalized her divorce from Swiss-Italian billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli in 2021, securing a record £350 million settlement.
Along with the cash, she received a £52 million house on Lake Geneva and an £8 million chalet in the Swiss ski resort of Gstaad.
After her high-profile divorce, the singer-songwriter from Staffordshire, who co-wrote the All Saints hit Black Coffee, found love again with Marc.
Their relationship became public in 2023 during a joint birthday celebration in Sardinia, where she performed for him in a romantic moment that left many guests emotional. The couple often shared affectionate posts on social media, showing their strong connection.
Earlier this month, Bertarelli shared on Instagram that Marc had died following a stroke. In a touching tribute, she posted a song in his memory, calling him her “beautiful soul connection.”
She wrote: “Dearest Marc – I loved you more than words can say and I still love you and always will… You’re a total Angel – that stays forever in my heart – gives me so much pain but the love you gave me is worth every single moment of heartbreak.”
She also shared that Marc brought her strength and kindness when she needed it most, saying: “Sometimes in life you’re given a second chance. Don’t let go, just be strong. Love knows no bounds when it’s pure and sweet – stable as the ground beneath your feet. Thank you babe.”
Bertarelli won the Miss UK crown in 1988 and placed second runner-up in Miss World that same year. She had been married to Ernesto for more than twenty years.
Together, they were once ranked 14th on the Sunday Times Rich List with an estimated fortune of £9.2 billion. During their marriage, she received a £100 million superyacht for her 40th birthday.
Her divorce from Ernesto was described as friendly, with the record-breaking settlement making headlines as one of the largest in British history, nearly matching Queen Elizabeth II’s personal fortune at the time.
She was represented by Baroness Fiona Shackleton, the lawyer known for handling divorces of Prince Charles and Sir Paul McCartney.
Marc’s sudden passing has brought new grief to Bertarelli, who had recently been rebuilding her life after her divorce.
Friends say their relationship was genuine, and her emotional tributes show how deeply she is mourning his loss.
