A 25-year-old man has been taken into police custody in Jigawa State after allegedly killing his mother due to accusations of witchcraft.

The incident reportedly occurred on August 26, 2025, around 4:30 p.m. The suspect, Jibrin Ado from Daneji village, allegedly joined forces with four others—Musa Kwalle, Dan Abba, Sule Musa, and Arrow, all from Gerawa Village—to enter his father’s home.

Sources revealed that the group attacked 50-year-old Magajiya Ado, the suspect’s mother, beating her with heavy sticks while accusing her of being a witch. She was left unconscious from the assault.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama stated that Magajiya Ado was rushed to General Hospital in Ringim, but she later passed away while receiving treatment.

The victim’s body has now been released to her family for burial.

Jibrin Ado is currently in police custody, while the other suspects are still being sought by authorities.
