Lady breaks silence after man drags her to court for collecting tfare and not showing up

A young Nigerian woman has finally shared her side of the story after a viral courtroom clip showed her being sued by a man named Emmanuel. He accused her of collecting transport money from him but failing to show up, claiming she went against their agreement.

According to the woman, Emmanuel was only an online acquaintance whom she had never met in person. She explained that he pressured her to travel from Asaba to Abuja to see him, even though she refused.

She further revealed that Emmanuel went ahead and sent her ₦50,000 for transport despite her refusal. In her words, she asked, “How will ₦50,000 be enough to travel from Asaba to Abuja?”

The lady claimed that after she didn’t make the trip, Emmanuel and some of his friends began threatening her over the money. She stated that she later offered to return the money, but instead of accepting it, Emmanuel got upset and chose to take the issue further.

Expressing her frustration, she asked, “If I had travelled and something bad happened, wouldn’t people still blame me? Women can’t win — whether we stay or go, there will always be criticism. What do you really want from us?”

Adding more to her defense, she alleged that she eventually refunded Emmanuel a total of ₦450,000, not just the ₦50,000 that has been making the rounds online. She also accused some individuals of secretly recording her despite a court order that banned filming during the trial.
