PDP Zones 2027 Presidential Ticket To South

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially decided that its 2027 presidential candidate will come from the South.

The announcement was made during the PDP’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

During the session, the party also agreed to keep the current National Working Committee (NWC) zoning formula for its upcoming elective convention in November.

Speaking with newsmen after the NEC meeting in Abuja on Monday, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, explained that the decision was based on a report presented by the Zoning Committee, which was chaired by Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri.

He further revealed that the NEC expressed confidence in the ongoing arrangements for the November convention.

Ologunagba also said that the NEC recommended that both the North and South should continue to maintain their existing NWC positions.

He concluded by stressing that since the position of PDP National Chairman is already allocated to the North, the party has now zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the South.
