Former Nigerian international, Victor Ikpeba, has expressed strong belief that the Super Eagles can turn their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign around with victories against Rwanda and South Africa.
So far, the team has only managed one win in six qualifying matches, a performance that has left them struggling in their group.
The Super Eagles currently sit in fourth place with seven points from six games, while South Africa are at the top of the table with 13 points from the same number of matches.
Nigeria will host Rwanda’s Amavubi at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, September 6, in a must-win encounter.
Just four days later, they will head to Bloemfontein for another crucial clash against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Ikpeba believes the Nigerian players have the pride and determination to rise to the occasion, adding that they are ready to get the job done.
He told SuperSport that representing the country comes with honour and responsibility, and he is convinced the Super Eagles will secure wins in both games.
The team’s training camp for the two fixtures is set to open next Monday as preparations intensify.
