A magistrate court in Dutse, Abuja, has ordered that a landlord be kept in prison in Niger State over claims that he injured one of his female tenants.
Prosecutor Babajide Olanipekun told the court that the landlord, Iloba Kingsley Adigwe, 52, allegedly entered his tenant’s room in Byazhin, Kubwa, on August 13, 2025, and hit her in the face.
The attack reportedly left the tenant, 42-year-old Joan Ighofose, with an injury to her face.
The landlord denied the allegations and asked the court to release him on bail.
Magistrate Abdullahi Ahmad Ilelah postponed the hearing until September 22 and told the landlord’s lawyer to officially submit the bail application.
