I’m Out Of Kirikiri Prison But In Pains — Ibom Air Passenger, Comfort Breaks Silence

Comfort Emmanson, a passenger recently freed by an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, has shared her first words since leaving Kirikiri Prison.

In a heartfelt message on Instagram on Wednesday, she thanked her friends, supporters, and well-wishers for standing by her with love and prayers during her time in detention.

She also revealed that she is still in pain—both physically and emotionally—because of how she was treated. Comfort said she needs time to rest and get medical help before she can share her full side of the story.

Her note read: “Thank you so much for the prayers, love, and support. I’ve been released, but I’m still in pain because of the treatment I went through. I need rest and medical help before telling my story.

Thank you, my dear friends and supporters, and may God bless you all. Thank you, my great God!”

This update came only hours after the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba struck out the five-count charge against her.

She had been accused of disturbing the peace on an Ibom Air flight, assaulting a crew member, and behaving in a way that could disrupt public order.

The case was dropped when both the complainant and the airline told the court they no longer wanted to continue. Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami then ordered her release.
