Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has once again taken to music to call for justice for his late son, the popular singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad. In his latest release, he pours out his grief and demands answers.
In a video accompanying the song, Mr. Aloba appealed directly to President Bola Tinubu to help ensure that justice is served for his son, who passed away under unclear circumstances in September 2023.
By September 12, 2025, it will be two years since the 27-year-old musician died at his home in Lagos, leaving fans and family heartbroken.
Even after a coroner’s inquest and an autopsy conducted by the Lagos State government, Mr. Aloba has rejected the official findings. He insists that the true cause of Mohbad’s death has not yet been revealed.
Because of his doubts, Mohbad’s father has refused to rebury him, saying he will only do so when he is fully convinced of what led to his son’s passing.
While some Nigerians have criticised him for repeatedly releasing songs about his son, others believe it’s simply his personal way of coping with the loss, reminding everyone that grief is expressed differently by each person.
