The Kano State Police are looking into two different events that happened in Kwalwa Quarters, within Kano Municipal Local Government Area.

The first event took place on August 4, 2025, around 7:30 pm. Unknown attackers entered the home of Sadiq Shu’aibu, also known as Sadiq Gentle.

During the attack, he was stabbed and robbed of his belongings.

He was taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital for medical help but died on August 7.

The police said they are carrying out a full investigation into what happened and asked anyone with helpful information to come forward.

The second case occurred on August 3, 2025, at about 2:00 am.

Police reported that a 24-year-old man, Mas’ud Dahiru, tried to break into Musa Hassan’s house to steal.

Mas’ud attempted to stab Hassan’s wife with a knife, but their 18-year-old son, Muhammad Musa, stopped him. In the fight, Mas’ud stabbed Muhammad on the back and face.

Neighbors raised an alarm, and Mas’ud and his partner, 38-year-old Alhaji Haruna, were caught and beaten by a crowd.

Both were taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, where Mas’ud was declared dead.

His partner and the injured son are still being treated.

The Kano State Police Commissioner, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, promised the public that the investigations will be open and clear.

He also assured that the police are focused on keeping peace and protecting people and their property in the state.
