Bandits recently attacked Suwa and Ding’ak villages in Mushere Chiefdom, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing a pastor and two others.
Reports say the incident happened between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm on Friday, August 8, 2025.
The Chairman of Community Peace Observers in Bokkos, Kefas Mallai, confirmed the tragic event in an interview with Punch in Jos later that night.
Mallai named the victims as Pastor Gideon Katings of COCIN Suwa, Sunday Ringkang, and Meshach Bukata. He also said that another victim, Michael Kamshak, and several others sustained injuries and are being treated at the Cottage Hospital in Bokkos.
According to him, “Between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm today, Friday, 8th August 2025, terrorists attacked Suwa and Ding’ak villages, killing three people including Pastor Gideon Katings, Sunday Ringkang, and Meshach Bukata. Michael Kamshak and others are currently in the hospital. Hundreds of residents have also been displaced.”
It was also revealed that the attackers had earlier killed Stephen Ngumap, a former choirmaster and the current assistant secretary of RCC Ik’ngwakap, Mushere.
