Residents of Karfi town in Katsina State took matters into their own hands when they caught and killed a man believed to be working with bandits.

The incident happened on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in the Malumfashi Local Government Area.

According to a security expert known as Bakatsine, who shared the news on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, the suspect admitted to helping bandits organize attacks on Karfi and nearby areas like Tashar-Fulani and Layin Minister.

He also revealed that he kidnapped a woman named Hajiyar Buroni and transported her on a motorcycle during one of the operations.

When residents searched the man, they reportedly found charms and an incense pot on him, adding to their suspicions of his involvement in criminal activities.

Bakatsine wrote that the man was caught in the evening and confessed to several crimes before the angry crowd took his life.
