Nigerian girl beats 69 countries to emerge first in English language

A 17-year-old girl from Yobe State, Nafisat Aminu, has made Nigeria proud by coming first in an international English language competition. The contest took place in London, United Kingdom, where top students from different countries gathered for the final stage of the TeenEagle Global Finals.

Nafisat outperformed over 20,000 students from 69 countries to claim the top spot in the English category. Her outstanding performance placed her ahead of all other participants, earning her international recognition.

Following the announcement, many Nigerians took to social media to celebrate her victory. One user on X, Abbey Abby, praised the achievement, describing it as another win for Nigeria. Another user stated that Nigerian students always prove themselves when given the opportunity, showing that the country has some of the brightest minds in the world.

Nafisat’s success comes shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rewarded the D’Tigress basketball team and the Super Falcons football team with $100,000 each for their recent championship victories in Africa.
